1.  Welcome and Introductions:  Anna Liebenow welcomed everyone. Self-introductions were made.

2.  Approval of October 12th minutes:  previously sent. A motion was made by Heidi Showstead and seconded by Kathy Kindelan to accept the minutes as amended. Vote passed unanimously.

3.  SUB-Committee report on graphics/simple language translation:  The sub-committee met with Sue Babin to review the graphics. Several non-cartoonish graphics were selected to make the survey’s appearance more professional.  One additional meeting may be needed to complete the final review. Sue Babin will work with Allyson Dupont to upload the graphic survey on the RISILC website.

4.  Survey written procedures: Procedures were discussed and a written draft was started.

5.  Distribution of survey who, where, timeline: It was decided to focus on the distribution of the survey flyer for the first year. Members were asked to bring a list of organizations to the next meeting. Members will obtain a contact person at the agency concerning distribution of the flyer and/or presentation. The ‘agency’ presentations will need to focus on why it is important to them and how the agency will benefit, such as advocacy. Ideas also discussed included a Powerpoint presentation and teams of 2 or 3 people to present whenever possible. Alicia Babcock volunteered to coordinate and maintain the list of agencies and responsible NAC member.

6.  Non-RISILC committee / meeting reports (GCD/RIPTA Public Forums, YLF, Cross Disability Coalition, etc.): Heidi Showstead reported on a PAL conference stating that there was a great presentation on autism and several independent disability businesses were present. She also informed members about the Sherlock Center’s Sentinel Project for people with disabilities and their families. The group offers informational meetings and educational presentations. Margarita Grome stated that the SOS was writing and speaking with legislatures concerning the budget cuts for people with mental illness.  The latest Cross Disability Coalition focused on employment issues.

7.  Old Business, new business, announcements: Anna Liebenow announced that there is a RIPTA hearing on November 29th to discuss proposed changes to the bus pass.
