  1. Welcome and Introductions: Liz Graves greeted all. Self-introductions were made.
  2. Minutes of the April 9, 2010 meeting: A motion was made by Ray Bandusky and seconded by Lorna Ricci to accept the minutes as written. The vote passed unanimously.
  3. SPIL updates from RSA: Liz Graves reported on her latest conversation with Sue Rankin (RSA). Liz confirmed that the RSA-MIS on-line form is the final format for SPIL submissions. She stated that upcoming events such as the ADA Celebration, Annual Meeting and the D.D.C. Nursing Association event could still be held if they were already contracted and could not be retracted. The extension process was clarified and no extension will be requested. The goal is to complete the SPIL by July 1st in order to not jeopardize a delay in Part B and Part C funds.
  4. SPIL Goals and Objectives: A discussion was held concerning SILC goals and objectives which was met with some resistance. Mary Wambach explained the need for SILC goals and an agreement was rendered. The committee realized that time is of the essence and the draft State Plan must be ready for the upcoming public forum and the quarterly Council meeting. Many of the goals and objectives have been completed and will need to be collated prior to posting the document.
  5. Review draft assignments: Several sections that still need to be completed were reviewed.
  6. Public Hearing, June 3rd: The SPIL Public Hearing will be held at the Warwick Public Library from 4 – 6 p.m. It was determined that the entire SPIL draft did not have to presented at the public forum. The goals and objectives were the most important. The IL Philosophy and SPIL goals and objectives will be presented. Laurie Diorio stated that she has a PowerPoint presentation used at the last public forum.
  7. SILC resource plan: tabled.

Respectfully submitted,
Rick Costa
Secretary
