STATEWIDE INDEPENDENT LIVING COUNCIL
Finance Committee

Members Present: Rick Costa; Karen Hanrahan; Jack
Ringland; Barbara Rozul, Treasurer/Committee Chairperson.
Staff Present: Camille Pansa, Executive Director; Lisel Rockwood, Program Assistant.
1.
Approval of minutes for July 15 and August 21, 2009 meetings: A
motion was made by Karen Hanrahan and seconded by Rick Costa to accept the
minutes as written. Vote passed unanimously with one abstention: Barbara Rozul.
2.
Finance Committee meeting dates for November and
December: The November finance committee meeting has
been changed to Friday, November 20th due to the Thanksgiving
holiday. The date for the December meeting will be discussed at the November
meeting. At this time, a December meeting may not be necessary.
3.
Review annual meeting: Overall, members thought the meeting was good.
Camille Pansa stated that the educational presentation will be moved back to
the business portion of the event.
4.
Recruiting/ServeRI ad in Providence
Journal: Another ad will be
placed in the ServeRI Volunteer section of the Sunday
Providence Journal. There was no response from the first ad placed in
September. Through other contacts though, Camille Pansa stated she has had
several inquiries for potential Council membership.
5.
Budget for new State Plan 2011-13: The committee will begin in January to write the
budget for the new three year State Plan which is due
on July 1st, 2010.
6.
Online course “Smooth as SILC”: Karen Hanrahan is currently taking this course to
learn more about SILC operations.
7. Audit/final
figures for FY 2009: The auditor
will be in the office on November 20th, 23rd, and 30th.
His findings will be reviewed at the January Finance Committee meeting.
8.
Continue 2010 budget projection: All
projected expenditures for each line item were reviewed. The 2009 budgeted
surplus will be short of the projected amount by approximately $650.
9.
New Business: New volunteer, Jack Ringland, was welcomed. All introduced themselves
and gave a brief biographical background.
